Divorced, Beheaded, Died, Divorced, Beheaded, Survived. So goes the famous line regarding the marital history of Henry VIII, England’s most famous King. Henry VIII was an author, composer, and athlete. How did this “most accomplished prince” become the monstrous tyrant we know of today?
From the first Tudor monarch, Henry VII, the Winter King, to Gloriana, Queen Elizabeth I, discover the intrigue, drama, danger, and astonishing events of the Tudor Era.
One week a subject could be in high favor, the next in high treason. What happened to the Princes in the Tower? Why were they never seen again? Who was the 9-Day Queen? How did Mary I earn the dreadful nickname “Bloody Mary”?
Renaissance England: It was a time of art, music, literature. It was also a time of weaponry and warfare.
Explore the entertainment and amusements of the royal court. Try your hand at juggling or jousting. Learn about the finery and food of the time. (A bit of advice: Avoid the aromatic spicy dishes.)
Discover life in this most civilized, yet barbaric period through hands-on projects and activities created and taught by our very own queen, Mrs. Joan Batson.
